Current Engagement

Since 2021, the state of Oregon has had a program to make sure people have ways to safely dispose of the medicines that are expired or their families no longer need.
There are many ways people can safely return their medicines for them to be disposed of. They include:
- At a local drop box, like at a pharmacy or police station.
- Pick up a mail-back package at certain places that has the address and postage on it.
- Request a mail-back package online or through a multilingual call center.
When this program started, we at Oregon’s Kitchen Table worked with MED-Project to hear from people in Oregon. We asked what the easiest way would be for you to turn in medicines that you no longer need in a safe and secure way. MED-Project used your input to set up the program so it would work for communities across Oregon. Many things have changed since 2021. Also, some pharmacies have closed. So, now we are reaching out to hear from you again about how the program is working for you. We also invite you to share how MED-Project can continue to provide ways for people to turn in medicines they no longer need safely.
