Meet the PDX Futures from the Hatfield Futures Project!
Names: Anya Li, Viola DeVigal, Allison Hu, and Adam Malik
Topic: The Future of Public Investment in K-12 Education
Why is participating in the Hatfield Futures Project a priority for you?
- Anya: I see Hatfield Futures Project as an opportunity to create a concrete plan to move Oregon toward car-alternative transportation. I see this program as a way to kickstart a push for real policy change.
- Viola: I see the importance of learning leadership and collaboration skills from a young age. This program will help me strengthen my skills, but I also want to meet other youth that have a similar desire to make change and use our voice in our community.
- Allison: I want to do something tha can make a real impact in my community but also address something that I care about. I want to be part of a project with enough influence to really see change happen.
- Adam: I want to impact my community and the world.
How do you like to express yourself?
- Anya: Music has always been a huge part of my life. I have been playing the piano since I was five, and started to teach myself the guitar and ukulele two years ago.
- Viola: Theater and dance. I've been a part of Gambate by Chisao Hata, Who I Am Celebrating Me by word stage theater, and others.
- Allison: Music is a huge part of my life. I play 3 instruments: piano, guzheng, and flute, but I'd have to say that piano is definitely my favorite.
- Adam: Photography. Through photographs of nature, people, and everyday beauty, I am able to present to others my vision of the world.
