Meet the Helix Team from the Hatfield Futures Project!

Names: Savannah Walker, Paige Coiner, Hiram Coiner

Topic: The Future of Agriculture in Eastern Oregon

What are you looking forward to working on through the Hatfield Futures Project?

  • Savannah: For me, it is difficult to worry about the entire world around me. So this project is important to me, because it is Oregon based. Where I can see real changes within my state.
  • Paige: Public speaking. It is not one of my strong suits, so this will be good for me to get out of my comfort zone. I don't usually work in teams much. So working with my team will be another benefit for me.
  • Hiram: The Hatfield Project because it's a rare opportunity for me. It means I get to meet new people, learn about new opportunities, learn new things. I like the thought of getting to share my ideas. They may not be good ideas but I’ll never get to know them if I can’t share them. I don’t really get chances like that very often. 

What is one skill you excel at?

  • Savannah: Detail-oriented
  • Paige: Math
  • Hiram: Art
