How do you enjoy expressing yourself?

  • Estela:

My passion and aspiration has always been to give back to my community and continue serving as a Youth Mentor. My hobbies include (but are never going to be limited to): drawing portraits, reading, and trying new food.

  • Amara:

I enjoy expressing myself through drawings, silly poems, collages, felted crafts and mixed media projects. I love putting random things together to see how I can give it new life! This year I've also taken up making short videos and skits with classmates!

  • Eva:

Creating collages. I enjoy finding images and phrases that connect to the topic or mood that I am trying to express and putting them all together to create a statement and provoke a certain emotion.

  • Destiny:

I love expressing myself through playing the keyboard, singing, and theater. These arts allow me to express myself without shame in doing it and have built my confidence greatly since middle school.

  • Cindy: Poetry.

I posted my own poetry on Pinterest, and people seemed to like it! Today, I still run an anonymous account for poetry that I write.

What is your favorite spot in Oregon?

  • Estela: Any cascades or hiking trails
  • Amara:

    Cantrall Buckley County Park

  • Eva: The coast
  • Destiny:

    Downtown Gresham or the beach!
