Current Engagement
Right now, many people are talking about the future of learning after high school. Decision-makers are trying to better understand what kind of learning settings work best for current and future students. Oregon’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) is one of the decision-makers thinking about these questions.
We know that after high school, most students are more likely to continue their education if they feel like they belong.
HECC has adopted a 2024-2029 Strategic Plan that “envisions a future where all people benefit from the economic, civic, and cultural impact of high-quality postsecondary education, training, and workforce development.” As HECC considers how best to implement the plan’s goals and strategies, HECC is partnering with Oregon’s Kitchen Table to hear from Oregonians about Goal 4, Belonging. HECC’s goal of Belonging is focused on elevating learner voices, and supporting inclusivity and belonging in postsecondary education settings.
